    Mandriva - unable to mount location

    Hi
    I am new to mandriva, and I felt that this is the only version of a linux distro which supports the floppy driver very well, it actually works good on it. I am using the 64bit version the operating system. But when the operating system just boot's up and I left click on the floppy icon it gives me an message saying
    Unable to mount location
    Cann't mount file
    The floppy goes on to mount it, that is ok and even I can unmount it. I feel that when you unmount the floppy and change the disk, and then again you remount it the message does not appears. Any one have ideas of how to get rid of this message? I have one more question for you guys, Is there any software like autoten in fedora so that installation of the software's can be easy for me.

    The things that come up on the snap shots of the autoten on its website, can be found in its repository. I think you have to set up the PLF repository.
    Code:
    www.a----.com
    By my knowledge the open source version of compiz, codecs and virtualbox are available in the repository. Bu if you want the non open source then you have to install them manually. I think this should not be difficult for you. Can you please place the contents of /etc/fstab.

    Hi
    Can you please place the contents of /etc/fstab.
    The output of the file is as follows
    For /dev/sda1 :
    Code:
    UUID=db53d521-7435-4fc1-9aa5-ad0077fe0c30 / ext4 relatime 1 1
    For /dev/sda6 :
    Code:
    UUID=f6343ebf-3efc-4b46-a6d7-848594dad741 /home ext4 relatime 1 2
    /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom auto umask=0,users,iocharset=utf8,noauto,ro,exec 0 0
    /dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto umask=0,users,iocharset=utf8,noauto,exec,flush 0 0
    none /proc proc defaults 0 0
    For /dev/sda5 :
    Code:
    UUID=de7c8698-07b0-4211-9b1c-09aa350da758 swap swap defaults 0 0
    I have not done any changes to it. This is how it was installed.

    Hello
    You can try this, become the root user and then edit fstab
    Code:
    su -
    gedit /etc/fstab
    In your case this will be
    Code:
    #/dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto umask=0,users,iocharset=utf8,noauto,exec,flush 0 0
    Then you have to save the file and after sometime try again. Do not forget to add # as a line comment at the beginning. Hope this may help you.
