Issue with changing desktop Wallpaper in Mac.

Hi,
I had this problem from last week. I unable to change my desktop wallpaper with current one. I tried deleting the current wallpaper, but it doesn't work out. I used various method but it didn't work out. Can any one tell me how to fix this problem.
For you information I have Macbook Pro with Mac OS X (10.6.1).

Use following steps to overcome this problem.
1.Open your Macbook Pro.
2.Now open Screen Saver pref panel
3.Now create folder of new images.
4.Now set images as per your comfort in rotation.
5.Now log out and again log in.

1.First copy and save your desired image on your desktop.
2.Now open system preferences of your laptop and select desktop and screensaver.
3.Now click on desktop tab.
4.Now place your image on wallpaper preview picture.

Just go to your favorite images. right click on it. Now select "set image as wallpaper". Now wait for few minutes.
That's it.
