is windows 7 compatible with windows server 2000??

hi if anyone can help with this would be great

currently running xp pro on all client machines

wanting to upgrade to windows 7

but having issues with active directory and some other admin tools

gettin a mmc snap in error when opening the activbe directory

any clues

You need to install the RSAT patch for Windows 7 ,it can simply opening an MMC and adding the snap-ins. Then go to start then control panel and program and features. On the left side of screen ,go to expand the remote server administrator tools and create a multiple MMC. This will rectify your error.

I suggested you please uninstall and install tool. For this you should be a member of administrator group on computers. From there you should remove the administration tool pack. you can use a program utility in control panel to
uninstall by the computer.i have introduced also these steps to remove them , click on start then go to control panel and click on uninstall then click view installed updates and select for Microsoft windows (958830) and then reinstall the tool. You should also disable anti virus and firewalls before installing.

Yes ,the windows 7 is always compatible with windows 2000 as a client. But most of time these type of error is come up. So i suggest that you disable all third party programs that are running in background from start up and restart the computer. Then start AD on your system. I will sure this will work perfectly.
