Run ‘regedit’ to edit your registry Navigate down the tree to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software Policies > Microsoft > Windows > Control Panel > Desktop and look for an entry ScreenSaverIsSecure. It Specifies whether the screen saver is password-protected. When a screen saver is password-protected, the user must enter the correct password to end the screen saver. You want to make sure the value for ScreenSaverIsSecure is 0 (zero).Exit regedit; you’re done!

You can stop Windows 7 from locking the screen after just 30 seconds of inactivity. This behavior can occur for either of the following reasons: When the default screen saver is set to use a non-existent screen saver program. When you use a corrupted screen saver that is password protected.

The password protected screen saver is a security feature Screen savers are able to help you out in protecting the monitor of your PC from damage by presenting a continually changing display. You may only use your user account password to lock or unlock an window machine with a screen saver.
