    Bsod STOP: 0xC0000218 Error

    Hi,

I have a windows xp computer, when I go in windows registry, I'm getting the "Stop: 0xc0000218" error. And after that my system crashes. It keeps looping back to the blue screen with the stop error. I not able to do anything. I have even tried in safe made but nothing works. Any suggestions !!

You can try booting XP installation CD and do a repair. If the repair fails, the next option would be to do a fresh installation of XP in the folder a different name (NOT Choose Format), but I hope there is enough room for second fresh installation of XP. By the way, when you make a repair or new installation of XP, this does not damage the data.

A Stop 0xc0000218 error message means that a file of a necessary registry hive could not be loaded. The main cause of the STOP message above error is missing or corrupt files in the Windows registry. Corruption in the registry is due to hard disk corruption or hardware problems. The above error may also occur when the driver has corrupted the registry data while loading into memory, or when there is a parity error in memory when the register is to be loaded.

To resolve Error 0xC0000218, try the following steps :

    1. Start your computer with the Recovery Console, run chkdsk / p in the drive, and restart the computer. Test to determine if this resolves the problem. If the issue is resolved, do not complete the remaining steps. If the problem persists, go to step 2.

    2. When Windows loads, press SPACE BAR when the "Load Last Known Good Configuration" appears.

    3. Perform a parallel installation and restore the registry files from a copy of the tape. To do this:
    * Reinstall Windows in a separate folder.

    * Restore the damaged registry hive backup. This procedure is specific to the backup application you use to make a backup. Consult the documentation for your backup application or consult your supplier for assistance. The procedure usually requires you to restore a backup of system state to an alternate location and then copy the registry files corresponding to the %systemroot%\system32\config folder damaged operating system.
