Windows seach feature does not work

I am using Windows XP. Few days ago I noticed that something is not right with my search function. I have many files in my hard disk so that I have to use search function to search files. Some one tell me how to enable this function? Is it due to downloading a latest Window update?

If your Windows Search program can't find files which is present in a hard disk then follow the following steps-
1 Click on Start button, and then click Search.
    2 Click on Change preferences.
3 select Change files and folders search behavior.
4 After that Click on Standard, and at the end click on OK button.
    5 Test the search function.

This problem occurs because jscript.dll, msxml.dll, and vbscript.dll are no longer registered.
To resolve this problem, just use following steps-
    1 Open a CMD.EXE window using start> run> type > cmd.
2 Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each line:
    regsvr32 /s jscript.dll
    regsvr32 /s msxml.dll
    regsvr32 /s vbscript.dll

To resolve this problem you have to change registry value. The steps are as follows-
1 Click on start and go to run. In that input box type regedit and press enter.
2 It will open registry editor window. In that window search for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoFind
    3 It have value "01 00 00 00". You have to change that value to "00 00 00 00"
    I think it would work.

I have better option for you to make your search option enable. You have to click on start button and go to control panel. In that window search for system restore option. Click on that and select restore point. It will restore you system. If system files are missing then it will rollback that files and make your search option enable.
