256 character limit on files on Windows server 2003 RC2

I have the following problem on Server 2003 RC2, I hope someone can assist me cause google cant really help me on this so far.

I want to do backups on my server but cant get Acronis to do the Backups because there is some of the files that have a character size of over 256 and then I cant copy the files or move it, How can I change the Character size on files that's bigger than that?? I've been struggling for the last month to do get it to work.

As per your problem I think there is no solution from your server vendor also .So I just suggest you that compress your file and then move or copy it.I don't know whether it works or not just try it. When you compress your file it convert it into small size.You can use WinZip for compression.

I would recommend you to use Long Path Tool. It should sort out your problem.
