Did you create a restore point before updating the system. Windows Vista is very buggy and there is not much you can do about it, I would recommend you to uninstall the updates that you installed. Are you sure its the updates that slowed the system? did you install any new hardware or software? I think you should have a look at that too. Do post back...

Well I updates Vista as i had some virus infection and i frequently use to get alert messages that windows updates are available, update your system to get better protection. Please help...

Check that the updates that you installed didn't screw any drivers. You will need to check this from device manager. Open device manager and see if any driver has a yellow icon. you should have a look at these topics first :

    Slow Vista startup

Also try to clean the start up from msconfig. If you have any more trouble you can anytime do a system restore at a early... Hope this helps...

Re: Vista startup is slow after updates

I would recommend you to try this :
    • Insert the Vista CD in the rom and boot from it
    • Select the repair option and let it repair Vista
    • After Repair see if windows vista is working normaly or not
    • Check if all drivers are proper
    • Check all softwares are working properly

If this doesn't help you, then you have a serious virus problem. I think you should buy a genuine antivirus software and clean install windows vista.
