when you want to change the dock easily there is SuperDocker that you can use, it is Free , simple to use, you download the Dock that you love in container (on site or SuperDocker iconpaper ) and works with you the SuperDocker (which automatically saves).

Icon files sometimes not recognized quickly Sometimes so the system takes a while to notice changes. If Dock isn't enough to show result then try restarting Mac twice. Try changing those icons in CandyBar again if that still not working . Apple is aware of this bug, and we await a fix in a future . else just try with snow leopard that may solve your problem.

    For icons that's normal.

You have to change yourself, the easiest way is to take Candybar but if you do not afford you the changes manually.

    Manually:

-- apple + i on the icon you want to copy.
    - You click on the icon in the window to highlight it.
    -- apple + c to copy.

-- apple + i on the record or other document to which you want to assign the icon copied beforehand.
    - You click on the icon in the window to highlight it.
-- apple + v to paste the icon

The Dock is the bar of icons that sits at the bottom or side of your screen. As you open applications (or open files to launch applications), their respective icons appear in the Dock, even if they weren't there originally. That means if you've got a lot of applications open, your Dock will grow substantially.
