What is the equivalent of Ctrl-Alt-Del for a mac pc

    Hi,

I was wondering if there is any key sequence to exit a graphical user interface (GUI) does not work, and preferably display a terminal window or something. You know, for those times when you are pretty sure that the kernel still works, but the GUI is not just being sensitive.

In Windows, you can ctrl-alt-del and execute commands with the menu option "new task" or “End task”. Is there any way to do something similar in OS X ??

You can do it by Command-Option-Escape. If not, try the command option-shift-escape. You will see “Force Quit” in the Apple menu shortcut. Normally, a window opens that lets you choose which application to force-quit, if you hold down the Shift key, which silently force quit the application in the foreground.

You can instantly kill any application full screen by pressing Command-Option-Esc shortcut If you use this in a windowed mode will open the dialog "Force Quit, which is similar to the Ctrl + Alt + Delete dialog in Windows. You can also force quit an application blocked by Control-clicking the application icon in the dock, hold down the Option key, and choosing Force Quit.

A Macintosh computer can also be forced to shut down or restart, skipping the usual closing process. This should be done only when absolutely necessary:
    * In all systems, holding down the power button forces an immediate shutdown. This skips the normal closing process.
    * Some desktop systems have a reset button which requires an immediate reboot.
    * On MacBooks and PowerBooks, Control-Command-Power requires an immediate reboot.
