Open up regedit.exe run box, and locate the following key
Now you have to create a new 32-bit DWORD value :HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
- 32-bit DWORD Name: NoTrayItemsDisplay
- Value: 1
Log off and Login back to see the changes, you won't find the system tray icon anymore.
Go into Control Panel -Locate Notification Area Icons - turn system icons on or off.
Do the following steps:
- Open Control Panel
- Double click on the Sounds and Audio Devices icon.
- Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window will open.
- At the center of the screen is a white box next to Place volume icon in the taskbar. To disable the speaker icon, simply remove the check mark from the white box.
- Then click on the OK button
- Close the Control Panel.
