Ubuntu is not able to run checkgmail application

I am using Ubuntu 9.04 and i am missing the Windows like GTalk which would show me a notification which tells me when i get a new mail. So i downloaded and installed checkgmail. It worked fabulously for some days and now i am getting this error "Error: Incorrect username or password" and Ubuntu is not able to run checkgmail application. Can anyone help me please?

Check if you or may be somebody didn't play around with checkgmail and the password and id is not really wrong. Also check the application is able to connect to the internet, you can check this by using some other gmail account if you have. OR may be your computer is not connected to the internet when you are using this application... See what applies to your problem...

Ok, the internet connection is working just fine and even my password is correct i use the same to login to gmail from a web browser and it opens. What else should i try? Please help...

Try to use checkgmail without using cookies. Open terminal and browse where checkgmail application is saved. There type :

checkgmail -no_cookies

Does it login properly? Do reply...
