This problem occurs when there is any file or folder which is in use my Mac OS on the partition which you created for Windows. Or the second reason this problem may occur is due to mapping error. In such case you have to re-install mac by formatting the complete hard disk and re-partitioning it. See which is your case...

Re: Bootcamp doesnt format my windows partition

This mac is of a friend which he bought just 2 weeks ago. I doubt if there is any mapping error as all the partitions were created with the Mac Installation DVD during the process of installing Mac OS X. Also the partition which i selected for windows is totally empty. Shall i first try formatting it with Disk Utility? I don't think any other way out. And i cannot formatting and re-configure my mac at this time. I've already spent much time in configuring system preferences already. Any other way?

Try the disk utility method may work. And if it doesn't work, i would recommend you to install OS in a Virtual Machine. You can download and use a free software know as virtualbox.
