Missing Device Mgr

Hi,

Small problem just appeared out of nowhwere. Vista 32 Ultimate 4GB Ram, e6400, 1TB hd

If I operate from start, cpanel, default view, I can access D.Mgr through all the available Icon and text sections.

I like classic view so that is where it normally stays not the default view.
e.g System Icon, D.Mgr
only trouble is click on Device Mgr top Left and std pointer change for about 1 sec then back to plain default arrowhead and no D.Mgr

If I use the options Remote, Sys, Advanced I can access D.Mgr

It only seems to happen when start, cpanel,system,D.Mgr is used

I've also used devmgmt.msc from the search/run box, and it works ok.

Its just driving me nuts, I have made no changes to soft or hard and the only that runs reg like clock is BD 2009 TS Full scan Twice a week
(only std add,trk cookies etc the last few months)

Anyone have any pointers I would much appreciate it.
