Maybe if it comes from the software itself you can move. Plist software on your desktop. It is here: / Users / TA_MAISON / Library / Preferences / com.apple.iChat.plist If the problem is resolved, you can then save this file to the Trash and empty it.

I have a different problem with ichat. When I am in videoconferencing, it automatically lowers the volume of the microphone so people have a hard time while hearing me. I think it's the function of echo reduction of ichat. So if anyone knows how to disable or set the input volume to the microphone please help me

Go to system preferences/audio and check that mic volume was turned down or not as i had such problems .I deleted the .plist files and reset everything but nothing works.I have read that there may be a conflict for for users of Time Capsule and the new iChat 5 so better to report apple .
