An Internal error has occurred. Could not find a place for a swap file

    Hi,

I am trying to install Windows XP on a new Hard disk and I keep on getting the error message : ” An Internal error has occurred. Could not find a place for a swap file.” Is there something that I need to check in my BIOS I am missing, or does this sound like an error in the hardware?

To remove error : An Internal error has occurred. Could not find a place for a swap file, Use a Windows 98 bootable floppy disk, delete the partition and make a new partition again, using FDISK. Make it active. Then with the same floppy type in format c: /s. Then it should work. Format windows XP in NTFS during installation.

You will require the installation CD, but can be used from two different locations. You can start Windows, insert the CD, and then choose to make an "update "Install. " Upgrade "is the only option for choose, if not available, or you go completely in the windows and losing a large amount of data and documents, etc., or end up with a double boot you do not really need. The other option is to boot from the CD.
