Importing jvc everio Video to mac

    Hello,
I bought a JVC Everio camcorder GZ-MG130U , I am facing problem with HDD Feature of this camcorder, It not that good, because I am obliged to go through the DV. Also, when I import the videos on imovie08, the software crashes after few minutes and I have to force quit. In fact, it is very complicated to import a movie without reboot the application several times. is there any solution to this. I would also like to know how to use JVC Everio GZ-MG .MOD with Mac iMovie.

iMovie can’t access the camera directly to import the video and Quicktime Pro doesn’t even understand the MPEG-2 format. You must download DropDV, Its a Mac OS X droplet which converts MPEG video into DV video streams. After conversion, your video can be edited with iMovie, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or any other DV video editing system. DropDV converts MPEG video files from Still Cameras, MPEG-based video cameras, Tivo and ReplayTV MPEG files, as well as any other MPEG file you may have from other sources.
