Follow this step to install parallels tools in windows vista :
    1) Start the virtual machine, and log in to the virtual machine guest OS.
    2) When the guest OS boots up, connect the Parallels Tools ISO image file by choosing the Install Parallels Tools option from the Virtual Machine menu. Parallels Tools installation wizard launches automatically.
    3) In the Welcome window, click Next.
    4) In the Destination Folder window, specify the location for the Parallels Tools. Click Next.
    5) In the Ready to Install the Program window, click Install to start the installation.
    6) When the installation is complete, click Finish to exit the wizard.
    7) To apply the changes, you should restart your guest operating system. Click Yes.

In Parallels Tools Wizard Click the ‘Next’ button > Accept the default destination for installing Parallels Tools > Click the ‘Next’ button > Select a type of installation.Select 'Complete. > Click the ‘Next’ button. > Click the ‘Install’ button to start installing Parallels Tools > If the Install Parallels Tools option is grayed out, make sure that Parallels Tools can be installed in your guest operating system. To see the list of guest OSs supported by Parallels Tools, refer to the Parallels Tools Overview section in Parallels Desktop Help available through the Help menu.> Windows won't be able to verify the publisher of this driver software. You will see this warning message multiple times as the Parallels Tools installation progresses > Click the ‘Install this driver software anyway > restart your Vista virtual machine.

Parallels Tools allow you to operate virtual machines in most comfortable way.If you want to remove parallel program, Go into Add/Remove programs while the VM is booted with Parallels and see if there is a Parallels Tools in there and if there is remove it, reboot.
