Not able to Install Intel(R)82801DB/DBM USB 2 Enhanced Controller

Hello Good morning to all,

I have a Dell 4500s with windows XP Home Edition.My problem is with installation of Intel(R)82801 DB/DBM USB 2 Enhanced Controller-24CD,it always asking for a file"usbehci.sys" on(unknown is needed).It can't find the file and I don't know where to tell it to find it.Where can I find that driver at with the file that I need, or where can I find that file at?.Does anyone know what the Install wizard is talking?

I had same problem like you when i installed service pack 1 on my computer, SP1 did not find them.I have USB2.0.So in this scenario i applied a logic.I went for a manual installation of the drivers from SP1 into my XP. Then everything worked fine.you can also do the same...

Hey can you try this steps to make the things ok.

1. uninstall the device driver(s) and the HUB too
2. power off (remember do not restart)
3. now cable the device to your system and then power it on (if applicable)
4. boot your computer

The driver for the USB HUB and the specific device should be reinstalled for you.

If I have hardware annoyance that I can't locate I will look up to BIOS updates, fireware updates on any newly installed hardware, software updates or removal of newly added software.I try not to give up chipset updates and or BIOS updates.You could also try using your System File Checker to replace "changed" files with using the original system cabinet files.If the hassle remains there go for a complete operating system reinstall.
