How to delete/disable Administrative shares on Windows XP

I am running Windows XP on my Dell computer. I would like to delete/disable Administrative shares on this computer. Because many of my applications are not able to run because of some Administrative shares. Can anyone help me how to delete/disable Administrative shares on Windows XP?

To delete/disable a hidden/administrative share, follow these steps:

    1. In Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.
    2. Expand Shared Folders, and then click Shares.
    3. In the Shared Folder column, right-click the share that you want to delete, click Stop sharing, and then click OK.

To disable Administrative shares on Windows XP, use the following registry hack:

    1. Open Registry Editor (Start - Run - type "regedit" and press OK button)
    2. Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManServer\Parameters"
    3. Right click on "AutoShareWks" and change its value to "0"
