How long for a full format xp setup

I'm running Windows Xp as my operating system. I have a 160 Gb hard drive in my system. I'm planning to format my system as well as to reinstall Windows Xp Sp2 on my system. Can any body tell me that how long does it take for a full format Windows Xp setup? Does any body have any idea about it? Kindly provide me the correct information on the above issue.

If you have WinXP installed there *has* to be a Boot.ini file on there somewhere. The partitioning screen lets you create and delete partitions as well as specify the installation partition. Check again, and make sure you have windows set to display hidden and system files.

In Windows Xp you access Boot.ini differently. There is also an option in Windows that allows you to do a repair of your operating system, but sometimes this is not offered as an option depending on what version of Windows you are running. Click Start, right click My Computer, choose properties, click Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery, click Edit.

You can use other methods to partition and format the hard disk before you install Windows XP, such as the Fdisk and Format tools. If you want to do a clean install, you can just do the format yourself. Run 'format c:' in DOS prompt or, if you want to do a clean install, run 'fdisk' and delete your Windows partition.

Normally, it takes around one and a half to two hours to perfectly follow the instructions step by step to setup Windows XP in your system and perform Disk Partition.
