How do I remove msxml sp2 from windows XP sp2

I am running with the windows XP service pack 2 and also updated through the internet, but i am seeing the msxml 4.0 sp2 files in my add/remove programs, i have tried out removing these file but unable to remove it and want to remove them for security vulnerability issues. How do i do this, If i remove this would have any problem? Thanks!

Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) is a set of services that allow applications written in JScript, VBScript, and Microsoft development tools to build Windows-native XML-based applications. I have read in some forums that msxml4 is no longer supported by microsoft so it can't be updated. The best advice is to ignore it. Ignoring it will not have any problem.

Its MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 3 and its available for download here, MSXML Service Pack 3. MSXML 4.0 SP3 will replace all the SP2 updates. Different versions of MSXML support slightly different sets of functionality. For example, while MSXML 3.0 supports only XDR schemas, it does not support XSD schemas. MSXML 4.0, MSXML 5.0, and MSXML 6.0 support XSD schemas. However, MSXML 6.0 does not support XDR schemas.

To properly install or upgrade to the MSXML 4.0 SP2 SDK, uninstall the previous version of MSXML 4.0 and then install MSXML 4.0 SP2 with the custom option to install the SDK selected. MsxML4.dll showed up again in vulnerabilities. I just deleted MSXML4.dll from the directory where Kis found it. Control panel still has the KB954430 fix for 4.0 though so guess everything OK. As with all COM components, an MSXML object is programmatically instantiated by CLSID or ProgID. Each version of MSXML exposes its own set of CLSIDs and ProgIDs.
