    Double, Single Click Registry Settings in Windows Xp

    Hello , I have a small problem, With old mouse , from time to time when I click 1 time it react as if I have clicked 2 times, whenever i select a .exe file there's a risk of running the program as if I have double-clicked it , initially I thought the problem was of contact, that is why I have removed the mouse, clean everything but still the problem has not disappeared, i am sure there must be way to solve this problem , like a Registry Settings , something like that please Help me Thanks in advance

    if you need to access to registry, Launch regedit , Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control/Mouse there are Several ‘keys’ that will be displayed in the right hand pane. Open the key you need

    Goto Control Panel - Folder Options - General and check "open items by double clicking" If you want to Return to Open any application by double-clicking (single click selection), simply check the box: open an item by double-clicking (single click selection) then click Apply and OK to close the window .

    Windows XP
    1. Double-click My Computer.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
    3. On the General tab, make sure that Double-click to open an item (single click to select) is selected.
    4. Click Apply to save your settings change.
    5. Click OK.
    6. Close the My Computer dialog box.


    Reinstall the IntelliPoint software
    1. Insert the IntelliPoint software disk.
      • For Windows XP and earlier versions:Click Start, click Run, type drive:\setup.exe in the Open box, and then click OK.In this command, drive is the letter of the drive where the Intellipoint software disk is located.
    2. Follow the instructions for the installation process.
    3. Restart the computer when you are prompted.
