Pidgin (formerly known as Gaim) is a graphical IM program that lets you sign on to AIM, Jabber, MSN, Yahoo!, and other IM networks.
It uses GTK+.
You can install Pidgin 2.0.0 on Ubuntu Feisty. Download Pidgin 2.0.0 packages.
follow these --
- wget http://download.ubuntu.pl/_Feisty_Fa...0.0-1_i386.deb
- Install .deb packages using the following command
sudo dpkg -i pidgin_2.0.0-1_i386.deb

After downloading Pidgin, you will need to install some necessary tools using the following command -
sudo aptitude install build-essential pidgin-dev checkinstall
Exctract the file, go to the directory and run these commands.
./configure
make
sudo checkinstall
