To Uninstall Windows Media Player go to menu > Start >Control Panel > Add/Remove programs. Select Windows Media Player 11 from the drop down list, click on delete button and Restart your Computer to save all settings.

To remove WMP 11 from vista delete the registry key. Click on start then go to run, type regedit command which will open all the registry windows. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then go to software. click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer..............delete that folder then restart the system.

Refer this threads to delete WMP from vista :

You can't because in Microsoft's "wisdom" they incorporated Media Player into the operating system itself. So they only way to "fix" WMP is to reinstall Vista or attempt to repair it. Try using your computer's recovery disks.
