To edit host file, follow these steps:
    • Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Notepad, and then click Run as administrator.
    • If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
    • Open the Hosts file or the Lmhosts file, make the necessary changes, and then click Save on the Edit menu.

Open Notepad with Administrative privileges by clicking Start, All Programs, Accessories, and then right-click Notepad and select to open as Administrator.

Now that Notepad is open with Administrative privileges browse to (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc) in Notepad and open the hosts file.

First select that notepad file and create shortcut to that file by right clicking on the notepad file and choose Send-Desktop option. It will create shortcut of the notepad file on desktop. After creating shortcut of notepad file right click on that file and select properties. Click on advance button and check "run as administrator". click on advance properties window.Replace “%SystemRoot%\system32\notepad.exe” with “%SystemRoot%\system32\notepad.exe C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts” in the Target box.Click OK in the ‘Properties’ window to save the changes.
