Fix for shutdown notification in Ubuntu

Hi all, i upgraded my Ubuntu system to version 9.04. I liked its new features except the one, that is 60 seconds delayed shutdown notification. Whenever i shutdown my Ubuntu computer, it gives a option pop up of canceling the shutdown or clicking another button to…shut it down. What i want is to shutdown the system immediately without giving me that annoying notification like windows. Is there any way to to that? Please help.

Ubuntu 9.04 shows this pop up when one logout,shutdown or restart. Well, its annoying for some people but it prevents users to make a mistake. Any ways you can disable it easily. Just see this simple steps:-

1. Right click on the switch users or shutdown icon at the top and select Preferences.

2. Now you will see the “Show confirm dialogs for logout,restart and shutdown” option in the User Switcher Preferences window.

3. click on the box to uncheck the setting for Show conform dialogs for logout, restart and shutdown.

Thats it !!!

Hitting the enter will go straight to shutdown.Some people like to have a second chance to decide whether or not they want to turn their computer off, but I kind of like to just say “turn off” and have it do my bidding immediately
