It is very simple, you just need to open command prompt and type msconfig press OK. this will open System Configuration Utility window. In this window, click on Check All Boot Paths.

Thats it.. This will check all boot paths of your system and removes the invalid paths. Once done. close all the windows and restart the computer. You are done.

If you keep on getting the "Invalid Boot.ini File Booting From C:\Windows " error message than make a search for boot.ini on C drive. Once found, right click on it and open with note pad.Than go to Control panel, system, Advanced Tab.Now go to Settings under Startup and Recovery and click on Edit Tab.you would see your boot.ini file here.If not than copy and paste the boot.ini.backup file to this empty boot.ini Notepad window. Thats it.. Now you will not get the error message.
