Cannot end process in Windows 7

I am not able to end the processes in Windows 7 that hangs or become stiff. The processes are shown in Task Manager and I tried to end them from there but they are not ready to budge

So... how can I end processes in Windows 7?

Re: Cannot end process in Windows 7

I had frequent crashing of various applications on my Windows 7. It would mostly happen to adobe photoshop and word 2007 when trying to save these files. But one day I did its upgrade install from Windows 7 and the problem of crashing of these applications have almost stopped.

Now I dont know how can you end crashed processes in Windows 7 but atleast in this way you can avoid crashing of applications.

PsKill is an executable file that not only able to kill processes locally, but also able to kills processes on remote computers. To use PsKill to kill hang process, follow below instructions:
    1. Download PsKill utility.

    2. Unzip the package and copy pskill.exe to C:\WINDOWS\system32.

    3. Right click on taskbar then select Task Manager. Go to Processes tab and look for the hang process PID. If PID column doesn’t not exist, go to View -> Select Columns, tick PID (Process Identifier). Write down the PID value.

    4. Open command prompt by going to Start -> Run, then type cmd and press enter.

    5. Type pskill, space and followed by the PID value. For example, if the PID is 9596, then type pskill 9596 and press enter. The process will be terminated without affecting other running processes.

Hmmm, yeah.... PSKILL doesn't work, it just hangs. Word 2010 is hanging on me all the time, it happens when I have the format pop-up window open and I try to save, the whole darn process hangs and you can't kill it. This is what pskill does...

ZOMG, not only does PSKILL hang when i try to use it, it grabs all of my memory and CPU! I have a dual core, it pegged that processor on full.

It seems that there is a bug in VSTO Word document Designer where documents with 2 or more ActiveX controls would exhibit the behavior you are describing. This bug has been fixed but did not make it into the RC release. Apart from that, what is your computer specifications? I would recommend you to install office 2007 rather than the office 2010.
