Have you tried windows uninstall utility provided by Microsoft for removing it?
Please try it first.
If that wont help then use some program uninstallation tool available over the internet.
If you want to restore the Google "I'm Lucky" search then perform this simple steps:
1. Type about:config in Firefox location bar and press Enter
2. Type keyword in Filter textbox and you will see only the preference keyword.URL.
3. Double-click on keyword.URL and change the value to:
That's all it takes to restore default keyword search functionality in Google.
Note: You can use this to change to any search engine for keyword search.
i hope this helps.

we unintentionally started installing inbox toolbar. I removed the program from the control panel, but the inbox installer won't let me restart the computer, and I can't get it off the screen. Am I forced to complete the install before I can uninstall? It seems to act like spyware, and I do not want this thing installed on my computer!
Yes, the program has been unnstalled, but I can't get the installer window off the screen and it wont let the computer restart to finish the uninstall
Inbox is the bastard child of someone’s sick mind that is a wanna-be-Google company. I got the thing from a backup brick from Seagate. Probably one of those imps they pay to piggy-back in on other needed software. In this case, it was the drivers for the backup unit. Took me awhile to get rid of it. Seagate was no help, and wanted me to cross their palm with silver to take it off. Inbox.com gave an answer, but did not have a solution it hijacked Firefox or Google. It just imbedded deeper than a Texas bedbug.
Now here is what you do, and be sure to follow these steps exactly, because I am ninety-two and I may not live long enough to help you out if you screw up. That means I will not be responsible for your mistakes.
Open your browser.
Go to the top address line in the browser; type the following.
About:config
You’ll get a big frightening window saying;
(This might void your warranty)(I’ll be careful. I promise.)
Click OK
You’ll see a lot of scary listings
At the top You will find a box saying FILTER; Type in KEYWORD
You will see a line that says Keyword.URL
Double click on Keyword.URL
You’ll get a window for keyword.URL Change to;
http://www.google.com/webhp?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Press OK and you are done.
If You cannot get Firefox to bring up Google;
Open Firefox.
Tools
Options
Click Restore to Default.
Still have a problem?
Make sure the top block says Show my home page.
Now enter the following
http://www.google.com/webhp?ie=utf-8...=hp&channel=np
Click OK and you’re done.
Thank you!!! I'm finally rid of "INBOX".
Thank you!! The first set of instructions didn't seem to do anything, and I had already uninstalled before coming to the forum to look for answers. The second set helped. I couldn't go to Tools then Options but I hunted around and found it. Firefox is no longer inbox.
