idea Some Applications are not running in Windows Vista

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate

When i installed Google Talk then at startup, Google Talk is unable to start and windows gives message that "Google Talk encountered an Internal Error and must close now!

And when i try to open "Scansoft Omnipage 15.0 Pro" after Installation, windows gives error "OmniPage 15 has stopped working"

From various sources i confirmed that Google Talk and Scansoft Omnipage 15 Pro has Vista support!

Can anyone tell me what to do?

Sometimes, there are issues with Google Talk working with Vista; and particularly Vista Ultimate. BTW, I have deactivated UAC since my first day in Windows Vista. Maybe it could interfere something.

It has also been observed in some cases that uninstalling Winamp makes Google talk work properly in Vista. I dont understand what the connection, but has worked for some people.

Re: Some Applications are not running in Windows Vista

Is the problem with these 2 applications only or with the all the applications that you install in your Windows Vista Ultimate? If the problem is with these 2 only, then have you tried to reinstall the applications?

If the problem is with all the applications in your Vista, then the windows installer might have been corrupted. If so, download Windows installer form here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Also, is your Vista a 64bit version??

    1. To disable the UAC, enter the Control Panel and type UAC in the search box. The first result returned by the search will be User Accounts – Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off.

    2. Click on it and the UAC window will open. Deselect the option Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer and press the OK button.

    3. Windows Vista will ask you to restart your computer. After the restart, UAC will be disabled.

    Disable DEP in Vista:
    1. Click Start
    2. Click All Programs
    3. Click Accessories
    4. Right Click on Command Prompt
    5. Left click on Run as Administrator
    6. Click the Allow button if it asks you for permission
    7. Type or copy and paste this into the command prompt window: bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff
    8. Hit enter and you should see the confirmation: Operation Completed Successfully
    9. Reboot and DEP should be off.
