Fix no sound device windows xp

hi
i am using windows xp and i just install it after windows 98 but now there is problem for me Windows xp system does not providing sound suddenly. audio device is present and working fine as previously in windows 98.but now what is the problem i dont under stand please can someone help me ?

just check your hardware settings ,check in device manager that your audio card working ,check how its showing in hardware list is there yellow mark present is that mark is present then check for your driver version check this thread for more help

Windows computers may lost system audio output due to crashes between file system or registry that created or left by third party utilities that may be due to installation or uninstallation so just check for last movement about third party application and retrieve it or reinstall driver

try this

1. Download and install K-Lite Codec Pack version 3.3.0 Full or here
   
2. After installation ,go to Start button, then go to All Programs > K-Lite Codec Pack > Configuration > Codec Tweak Tool.
   
3. now select the check box next to Registry Fix non-working system sound.
   
   
4. Click on Next button done

now your sound must be ok
