    System hangs after memory check

    Hello friends,
    My system hangs after memory check. I have windows XP. I cannot go in the bios settings. Whats the issue? Anyone?

    It seems to be like hardware problem. It could be a loose cable or cables inside your system. If you have any knowledge about setting up hardware, then try fixing the cables and consult your hardware engineer.

    If you have 2 RAMs and they are not match pairs, you will face this problem. Try reboot after removing one RAM. Sometimes 2 RAMs refuse to work together. If it works, then try to reset the CMOS using the jumper and battery.

    It may be Corrupt boot files on the computer. If the computer has no bootable files on the drive it is attempting to boot from it is possible that it hang on memory check. Try to boot from bootable floppy disk. When you are at the A:\> prompt type "sys c:" and press enter. This should report the message "File system transferred." Then remove disk and restart the system.
