Disable Safe mode in Windows XP

    Hey Guys!
I have a problem with my "Personal" Computer. I want my computer to be personal how do i achieve it? My brother breaks in my computer. He uses the Administrator Account which is Visible under Safe Mode then deletes my password to enter in my computer. Can anyone help me in disabling safe mode? Help Guys. Thanks in advance...

    Hey!
I don't think that the idea you have in mind is practically possible. Microsoft will never make a tweak will can hamper security. Well safe-mode is an important option for troubleshooting. Why would anybody need to disable it? Well yours is a different case... -OR- May be someone else could help... But i don't think this is possible. Anyways try to find some other work around... All the best!

    Hey!
Fame said it right! You cannot disable booting in Safe-Mode. What happens is when you boot in safe-made a registry key is used which is created once you boot in safe-mode and it self deleted when you exit safe-mode. The key is :
    Code:
    HKLM\system\current control set\control\safeboot\option
But the problem is it is visible only when you are in safe-mode and not in normal mode. So your idea seems to be useless. Well you could give password to the administrator account. While in safe mode and thus preventing any access to safe mode too. What say? All the best!!

    Hey!
I'm not 100% sure that this will work on your computer, but it worked on mine. Run "regedit" and navigate to the following key :
    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot
When on this key, on the right you will see two keys :
    • Minimal
    • Network

Now all you have to do is to rename these keys and add "-disabled" after each key which will make the keys like :
    • Minimal-disabled
    • Network-disabled

But disabling safe mode is never a good idea. Instead give password to Admin account as Smirnoff said. Anyone with Admin right on the computer can edit these keys and enable safe mode again so make sure there is no other admin account if you choose to disable safe mode. All the best
