As revealed by microsoft here is the minimum system configuration required for Windows 7

Processor :
1 GHz or more processor with 32-Bit or 64-Bit architecture
Memory :
Minimum 1 GB for 32-Bit OS and 2 GB for 64-Bit OS
Graphics Card :
128 MB DirectX 9, Windows Display Driver Model 1.0 Compatible Video Card
Hard Disk :
Atleast 15GB for 32-Bit OS and 20GB for 64-Bit OS
DVD Drive :
To install Windows and other softwares from
Sound Card :
DX9 Capable
Monitor :
Minimum : 1024x768 capable screen [800x600 works but no feel]
Input Devices :
Keyboard + Mouse
Internet Connection :
For updates and activation. [Phone activation available too]

Hey!
As i said, the beta stage of Windows 7 has advance to the RC stage. Its not long when th RTM version would be out for sale. I have kept a machine ready for windows 7 already... Just waiting to give a try to RC and will buy the RTM as it is out!

considering this as the operating system's final requirement, it is not too high. Well i would say that this requirement is too low as compared to Vista. Vista was a very greedy resource hog and this is a great news that windows 7 runs sufficiently well on such a low configuration... Have Fun Guys!
