    Check if the drivers are installed properly. Right click on My Computer =>Go to Properties =>In Hardware Tab click Device Manager =>In Device Manager Select Action and Scan for Hardware Changes. Try reinstalling drivers for sound and video card.

    If all the drivers are installed, you must have something muted all sounds. Go to control panel and then go to Sounds and Audio Devices. Check all the settings are set properly. It might possible that your sound card is faulty.

    Try following steps:
    • Open Control Panel ->System ->Hardware ->Device Manager
    • Open Sounds
    • Check for a Sound card
    • If nothing is listed, use the Scan button
    • If you your sound card was listed, remove it
    • Then restart the system

    If windows cannot find a driver for the hardware on restart, then there must be something wrong with the hardware.
