Check your card and download the actual driver from manufacturer site. That's how I got it working with XP.reinstall your driver.Eject your card and reboot. After it's done go to System panel and use set the new drivers for your card.Go to XP's network seetings and right click your lan connection and choose properties Choose the register "WLAN devices".
Undo the system restore, uninstall your wifi card and again do the system restore and again install it...the problem occurs because it removes any registry information installed after the restore point but doesn't get rid of the files.
Try the following :
- Download the latest drivers from the site.
- Unplug the modem.
- Uninstall the drivers.
- Restart the PC.
- Install the new drivers.
- Restart the PC again and plug the modem back in.
- If required restart one last time
