iMovie refuses to import. AVI

Hi,
I try to make a DVD from various DVD (30min) from a camcorder.

I use handbrake to convert my VOB to AVI. I use the DivX codec.The film obtained is perfectly readable in VLC withoutproblem,

Then, before burn with iDVD, I would like to cut some scenes, tips basic amount. So I spend about iMovie. iMovie can see my film, but does not import it (Import> film). There are no error messages, but the film does not appear in my imports. And I'm stuck! please can some one help me ?

It seems to me that iMovie does that format. Mov and. Mp4, my home so it does not import. Avi

You must therefore re-encode. I use iSquint which works pretty well, you lose too much quality settings thoroughly. but may not a pro imovie ,there may be another solution!

you buy the mpeg2 codec from Apple, you soft MPegStreamClip uses to transfer the shoots really missed you and passes it on DVD without even annoy you to encode.
