Internet Too Slow On iMac

Hey!
I recently bought a new iMac and i'm already pissed off with it...! I cannot browse web pages properly, IM programs respond late too. Well the internet is so slow that i have to think 1000 times before using the net on iMac. I have an old PowerPC which just works fine...! Its just the iMac which has problems. Sometimes it would disconnect from the wireless network and wouldn't connect back for hours...! I wonder if i just waisted my money by buying the iMac..! Can anubody help me!? Thanks!

I seem to have a similar issue. My internet connection with my intel duo core iMac has never been fast, but it seems to have slowed down considerably. Yesterday, I lost my internet connection, and i talked to my ISP but everything is fine from their end and even my WiFi settings are good...! This is the problem with Intel based iMac only...! Well if anyone has any fixes do post...! Thanks!

I have the same problem too... It is really frustrating. I use a NetGear Router. Windows work fine all the time. iMac loads pages then stops, then works proper for few minutes, then stops again. Does anyone know the answer. The problem is with iMac, not router. Help!

I have the same problem. I have checked with the Network Configurations. I have checked cables and routers and network adapters. I have even checked my router...! Everything works great with windows computer but iMac has some software or hardware bug it seems...! If anyone finds a workaround for this one, do post...! Thanks!

Its your internet!

The core i5 is so fast it thinks faster then the internet.
You might want to go get faster internet.
I did,
i switched 2 dls.

Its so fast its SCARY



I came from a Pentium Dual-Core,

It was fast not as fast as the core i5 with dsl
