You can send and receive faxes directly from your Macbook or other Mac laptop, as long as you have an internal or external modem installed.Setting up fax service on your Mac laptop is very easy, so lets start it:-
1. Plug your phone line into the Line In (RJ45) connector on your laptop’s internal modem.
2. Open your computer's "System Preferences" and click "Network."
3. Enable your modem in the "Network Preferences" tab.
4. Click “Apply Now.”
5. Go back to "System Preferences" and click "Print and Fax."
6. Check the box next to "Receive Faxes on This Computer."
7. Enter your information into the "Fax" dialog box.
8. Select options for what you want your laptop to do when it receives a fax. You can choose a folder where you want to save faxes, a printer to print out faxes and an option to alert you by email when a fax has been received.
9. Click the "Lock" icon to lock your settings if desired.
You are done..
The TSID is mandatory in some areas. This identification information typically appears in the header area of a fax that you receive. This information helps you identify the fax machine where the fax originates from. This information typically includes the sender's fax number and business name.
