Creating Vista Shutdown.bat file

Hello , Can you Tell Is It Possible to make one of these Batch for Windows vista? I need one to shutdown my PC Quickly Like We Do Use to do in Windows Xp once , Although I Tried Same windows Xp Shutdown code but it Does not Work for Windows Vista Thanks in Advance

You could also create a batch file named something fairly unique like xShutdown.bat and save it in your Start Menu>Programs folder. Edit it and enter the text "shutdown /s /t 0" (w/o the quotes) and save it. Now, you can use the keyboard shortcut win + x + s + enter to let Vista's start menu search find the batch file and run the shutdown command.

Similarly, use "shutdown /r /t 0" for rebooting and "shutdown /h" for hibernation.

Note: Use a prefix like "x" or "q" on your batch files so the start menu search will locate and isolate them quickly with minimal keystrokes.

Right click on your desktop and select new > shortcut. In dialog box type “shutdown –s”, click next to continue and then type a name for shortcut and click finish.

You can add below parameters:

shutdown [{-l|-s|-r|-a}] [-f] [-m [\\ComputerName]]

-l >> Logs off the current user
-s >> Shuts down the local computer
-r >> Reboots after shutdown
-a >> Aborts shutdown. Ignores other parameters, except -l and Computer Name
-f >> Forces running applications to close.
-m [\\ComputerName] >> computer name

To create a suspend icon, type “rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll, SetSuspendState”

I have been looking around the internet for quite some time, and have not found a complete solution for my needs on Windows Vista.

I did however find enough information to create my own batch file with some help from google and great people that share info online, so now I want to share with the internet, because there might be more people wanting this.

The code is as follows:
