Corrupt files in Windows Vista - Run chkdsk utility

After a USB failure every is back up but I keep getting a Windows warning (not on the console):

Windows - Corrupt File. The file or directory c: \ fs \ K \ DE \ shares \ Music is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility.

How can I run it on a share only? Or how to force it to run at boot time on those drives in the pool?

Can I just configure Chkdsk to run at startup for drives C and D?

    Hi,

    To resolve this error :

    1. Click to open Computer.
    2. Right-click the hard disk drive that you want to check, and then click
    3. Properties.
    4. Click the Tools tab, and then, under Error-checking, click Check Now. If
    5. you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the
    6. password or provide confirmation.
    7. To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan
    8. detects, select Automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk
    9. check will simply report problems but not fix them.
    10. To perform a thorough disk check, select Scan for and attempt recovery of
    11. bad sectors. This scan attempts to find and repair physical errors on the
    12. hard disk itself, and it can take much longer to complete.
    13. To check for both file errors and physical errors, select both Automatically
    14. fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
    15. Click Start.

Depending upon the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes.

    Hi,

Try booting from your install CD
then enter into repair and recovery console by pressing R, run the command chkdsk /r which will repair any file system errors and should correct your problem.

To correct disk errors from a command line, type:

    chkdsk DriveLetter: /f /r

For example, to check drive C for errors, type:

    chkdsk C: /f /r

    Hi,

We can manually run chkdsk to repair the partition corruption in case of logical errors. But, it has been found that utility prompts errors instead of repairing it.
