Repetitive tones while running Safari

I have a Macbook. I usually get a repetitive dinging tone when I run Safari on my syatem, however when I am using whatever other program there is no problem. This is really weird...
what can be the reason?
Any ideas?

That really seems to be annoying....
have you tried turning off the system sounds to see if that helps?
what if the system sounds are muted?

Can you describe how these dinging sound actually sounds like?
Do they sound like "Mac" sounds?

I am asking these because different types of sounds say... the number
of beeps (1,2,3 and so on) specifies different kind of problems on
different operating systems
