    Access denied to a folder!

    Hello everyone!

I have a small problem with one of my PC's not starting properly and reboot all the time without work for not even 2 minutes after access to the session.

I checked my hard disk with another PC and it works correctly.

But when I want access to the file for example C: \Documents and Settings\My data , it refuses me to access!

A message as access denied to the file!

When I go to the folder properties, it says 0 files, 0 bytes! But I know there are data in this folder but I can not access them from any computer!

Does someone could help me? very urgent!

    Thanks in advance

Problem of access rights. Login as a administrator and add your session to users who have rights to access this folder.

To correct this problem, start in Safe mode
    Right click on your folder
    properties
    security
seeks your current user name and gives all the rights of access to the file .

    good luck

I had this problem once and this is it then that I applied:

    Solution
To resolve this problem, you must disable Simple File Sharing and take ownership of the folder:

    • Disable Simple File Sharing:
    • Click Start, then click My Computer.
    • On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, then click the View tab.
    • Under Advanced Settings, uncheck Use simple file sharing (recommended), then click OK.

    • Right-click on the folder you want to take ownership, and then click Properties.
    • Click the Security tab, then click OK on the Security message, if displayed.
    • Click Advanced, then click the Owner tab.
    • In the Name list, click your user name, Administrator on if you logged on as an administrator or the Administrators group.

If you want to take possession of the contents of this folder, select the check box Replace owner on sub containers and objects.
    Click OK.

The following error message may appear, where Folder is the name of the folder you want to take ownership:

    • You do not have the permission to read the contents of directory Folder. Do you want to replace the directory permissions with permissions granting you full control? All permissions will be replaced if you press Yes.
    • Click Yes.
    • Click OK, then apply again the permissions and security settings you want for the folder and its contents.
