Microsoft promises better compatibility than Vista in Windows 7

I write a blog post on Microsoft interoperability efforts for international programs, programs in languages other than English. According to Microsoft, the compatibility in this area to be significantly better than when compared to Windows Vista.
Be cool people, Enne has arrived.

How it works with programs other than Unicode character encoding or the use of the language is the default in Windows?

Example: If run a program in different language say Chinese, which do not use Unicode, but GB2312 (Simplified Chinese). It will then be included in XP, which assumes that Windows 1252 is used. Windows 7 do the encoding used?

Can add that Microsoft has a solution, in the form of program AppLocale. The question is whether this function better, preferably automatic, contained in Windows 7.

Interesting question which I have no good answers. Someone else who knows or possibly have tested this?
