    How do I uninstall Win2000 Pro

    Hello

    I would like to install XP.
    how can I uninstall Win2000 Pro.
    In the command prompt and format c: it does not work

    you just boot with the installation CD / DVD of the operating system, which one to use instead of the old wants. Put your Windows XP CD, wait until everything was loaded and select the C drive and then press the button for formatting.

    If you want to completely rid the hard drive of any data try writing zeros to the drive. Then install Win98.Writing zeros ensures that the data has been removed as well as can be before installing a new OS.

    You can go here and download Boot and Nuke and unzip it to an empty folder. Click on install and it will create a Boot and Nuke Floppy that you can use to wipe the drive.

    Caution! This will remove all data so make sure that is what you want to do before using.
