Install Avast and give a try. Check if your wmi or security centre were corrupt in some way. You can follow this link: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scr...p/wmidiag.mspx
To resolve this problem, you must scan and repair the WMI Repository Database on the computer. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start
- Type cmd in the Start Search box and then press ENTER.
- At the command prompt, type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command line.
winmgmt /verifyrepository
winmgmt /salvagerepository- And Restart the computer.
AVG is a most excellent program for computer and server protection. That is why Microsoft selected AVG by Grisoft to ship with all copies of Vista. Your computer MFG added the additional selections.
You might have a corrupted file which can occur from time to time. I would recommend if your using AVG Free, download a new copy from the Grisoft website. Uninstall your current AVG, then go into your Hard Drive, locate Program Files folder and look for Grisoft or AVG and delete that folder. Restart your PC. Once restarted install the AVG you just downloaded, obtain it's updates and let it do it's thing.
