I have a computer on which i recently installed Ubuntu. Its default Desktop Environment is Gnome and i'm not much familiar with it as much as i'm familiar with KDE. Can i download and install KDE on Ubuntu?

Yes, you can install it, but you will need to download the KDE package first then install it. Or you can use the Kubuntu installation CD to install it on your Ubuntu. After installing make sure you select KDE as your default X window desktop environment...

But i brought the Ubuntu CD from a friend of mine. He and i don't have the Kubuntu CD. Can you or anyone provide me with the link of where to download the KDE package or Kubuntu ISO so that i can try that too...!![]()
You can download KDE without having to go to any website.
Do the following :
- Boot in ubuntu
- Connect to the internet
- Open terminal / console and type :
Code:apt-get install kde- if you are not logged in as root type :
and provide the root password.Code:sudo apt-get install kde- After it is downloaded, installation will be done automatically...!
