    HFS+ Partition Error

    hi,
I deleted the Sony recovery partition and I use diskpart to create a second partition (26GB) to install Mac OS X.it restarted and I get the. " Press any key to BOOT of the CD........." And underneath just pops up. "HFS+ Partition error".i tried rebooting it with the dvd but the countdown gets to zero and it wants to reinstall again. Any recommendations and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

    hi,
When your computer starts booting, try entering in safe mode. While in safe mode, do the following: Start>Run>msconfig>System Restore>Restore the computer as it was in an earlier time>Pick a date.

To fix this, do the following:
Make sure that your partition id is af. You can check this by using spfdisk or diskpart. If you partition id is af, then carry on to the rest of the steps.Boot into your installation DVD (any version),Open terminal from the utilities menu and type : fdisk -u /dev/rdisk0 NB. If OS X is on your second HD then use rdisk1 instead of rdisk0.

An alternative way is to get make an MS-DOS start-up diskette and put fdisk on it, and boot from it.n DOS, type : fdisk /MBR

    Re: HFS+ Partition Error

    • You may see S2VR HD 5 Drives in GPT status.
    • Go to DOS command line (click on "Start Menu", then "Run", type in "cmd" in textbox, and hit "OK")
    • Type in "DiskPart" in command line.
    • Type in "list disk" in command line to show all disks in this machine.
    • Use "select" to set the focus to the specified partition, for example "select disk 1".
    • Use "clean" command to remove GPT disk from the current in-focus disk by zeroing sectors.
    • Go back to Disk Management, you can see all S2VR HD disks are "unallocated" now. Right click on disk info, choose "Initialize Disk".
    • Choose all drives in S2VR HD and initialize them.
