This may occur when Vista’s User Access Controls fail to grant the user full administration rights when installing a program. A simple way around this is to run the setup from a command prompt with administrator privileges. To do this, click the Windows Start button and navigate to the Accessories program group. Right-click ‘Command prompt’ and select ‘Run as administrator’. Now navigate to the directory containing your Ruby In Steel installation files and execute this command:msiexec /i SteelPackage.msi

    hi,
Is this only on Vista machines? Stickies gives an incomplete installation message with the error code 2869 but seems to work. Is not listed in any uninstaller (Revo, CCleaner, Vista's) and does not appear in the Start/Programs list. But it's there in my systray and seems to work!

"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2869"
This error code indicates that you have attempted to install the software without the Administrator privileges which Vista requires. Try installing again: Select Setup.exe using the Windows Explorer. Right-click and, from the popup menu, select ‘Run as administrator’.
